The What is an Educated Person? Conference is a unique
event in American higher education. Every year for more than
20 years, faculty and administrators from all of Utah’s public
colleges and universities get together to talk about issues
surrounding general education. Originally motivated by the
question, “What is an Educated Person?”, over the years the
conference has focused on topics such as integration in
general education, assessment of learning outcomes and
high-impact educational practices. This year’s keynote speaker
is Tia McNair, AAC&U Vice President for Diversity, Equity and
Student Success.
