About this Event
1535 Edison St, Salt Lake City, UT
The Visual Art & Design Department invites you to join us for the next Guest Artist Lecture Series—a free community event on Tuesday, October 7, 1:30–3:00 PM at the South City Campus Multipurpose Room (SCM 1-030). Snacks will be provided. FREE EVENT!
This event features two outstanding artists:
- Melinda Davidson – A director, character designer, storyboard artist, and illustrator with over 18 years of experience in the animation, gaming, and publishing industries. Her credits include work on Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (Nickelodeon), Hulk and the Agents of S.M.A.S.H. (Marvel), New Girl (Fox), and The Aquabats! Supershow. She is currently the Senior Lead Artist at Waterford.org, creating art and animation for children’s educational media.
- Weilin Zhang – A traditional animator specializing in anime, with expertise in storyboarding and animating action sequences for major TV series including One Piece. His artistic focus bridges the neo-realist masters of Japanese animation with the stylistic innovations of early web-generation animators.
Don’t miss this opportunity to hear from two accomplished professionals, gain insight into the creative process behind animation, and connect with the VAD community.
