Staff Development - UA26 - Creating and Remediating Accessible Word Docs (Virtual Session)

Description & Learning Objectives

This is a virtual session. A zoom link and calendar invite will be sent upon registration. You will need a computer with internet access and Microsoft Word installed.

While many of us use Microsoft Word every day, we still might struggle to know all of the accessibility features of the program. This training aims to provide the tools and strategies to create and edit accessible Word documents. We will talk about program-specific strategies to ensure accessibility, find and use tools, and enact a plan for retaining accessible resources in Microsoft Word relative to your workflow.

Objectives:

  • Identify Accessible vs. Inaccessible Word Documents
  • Define components of Microsoft Word accessibility
  • Demonstrate Microsoft Word accessibility tool proficiency
  • Define and identify “pinch points”
  • Practice the process of preparing a Word document for export to an accessible PDF

*Participants must register to receive the link
