Salt Lake Community College

Staff Dev: Strengths for Supervisors

You must be a current supervisor and have taken your StrengthsFinder assessment, to be able to register to attend this workshop.

Learn how to apply a strengths-based approach to leverage talents using the GPS. This workshop is for employees who have taken the StrengthsQuest or StrengthsFinder assessment and attended a Strengths presentation. We would prefer that individuals have gone through the Exploring Your Strengths Workshop, but that is not required.

Learning Objectives
Increasing your self-awareness. Effective leaders know what they do well, and they find ways to apply their talents authentically and productively as they lead teams at the College. Creating more inclusive and productive working environments.

Deepening your knowledge and appreciation of others' talents. As you learn more about your own talents, you will begin to see the unique talents in others.

Forming and maximizing teams. Understanding each team members' talents will give you new insights into how your teams can perform to their full potential.

Helping others to affirm, develop, and apply their talents. As a leader who understands your own talents and how to apply them productively, you can lead others to develop and apply their talents. Learning how to leverage talents through GPS conversations.
