#MMIWRThe NISU SLCC students will be hosting an educational display at the Redwood Campus – Alders Plaza. This display aims to raise awareness about the ongoing pandemic and the injustices faced by Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Relatives (MMIWR). The issue, rooted in the history of colonization, has led to the disappearance and violence against Indigenous women, mothers, sisters, daughters, two-spirit individuals, men, children, and other relatives. Tragically, these cases often remain unaddressed by the government, and their stories are frequently left unheard. Many of your SLCC Native peers have been impacted by this issue, and we advocate for awareness & to understand the difficulties your SLCC peers go through daily. This display will be open all day on April 15, 2025 in the SLCC Redwood Campus - Alders Plaza. Please be advised that the display may contain difficult and unsettling information. If you feel this content may be too distressing, we encourage you to avoid viewing the display but still take the opportunity to learn about this important issue. #MMIWR#ProtectNativeLives#wematter✊🏾#Educate#Awareness#Fightforjustice
