Izzy Beauchesne, known professionally as De Izzy, is a Salt Lake City–based mixed media artist and SLCC student whose work explores memory, family, sustainability, and the natural cycle of life. Through immersive sculptural installations, such as her series Archive in the Wild, she transforms discarded objects into living archives that invite reflection and connection.
Her practice began in childhood creating fairy houses from fallen palm fronds with her mother and building miniature sets for stop-motion animation. After moving to Utah, she became one of Dreamscapes’ primary artists and its Volunteer Director, discovering the possibilities of immersive installation art while deepening her commitment to sustainability.
Beauchesne’s perspective on mortality was profoundly shaped by working as a Certified Nursing Assistant. Viewing death as a natural part of life’s continuum, her installations—featuring skeletons, greenery, reclaimed technology, and vintage film—celebrate remembrance and enduring generational bonds, inviting viewers to reflect on their own memories and personal histories.
