Faculty Learning Cohort: Culturally Responsive Teaching
Thursday, March 28, 2024 9:30am to 11am
About this Event
This SLCC learning community facilitated by Ann Fillmore, Associate Professor in the Department of English, Linguistics, and Writing Studies and Stephanie Charles, Coordinator in Faculty Development, will provide a rich opportunity for faculty to engage in thoughtful discussions and develop strategies to better serve the SLCC student population. This collaborative approach will not only enhance teaching practices but also foster a deeper understanding of how to balance educational approaches across different cultural contexts.
This year-long learning community will use Teaching Across Cultural Strengths: A Guide to Balancing Integrated and Individuated Cultural Frameworks in College Teaching, by Alicia Fedelina Chavez and Susan Dina Longerbeam. All participants will receive a copy of the book as well as a workbook.
Please pick up your book at Faculty Development and please let us know if you will use the printed workbook, or if you are opting to use the PDF version. Thank you
