What Works in the Retention of First-Year Students?

Facilitator:  Richard Diaz, First-Year Experience

What is student retention and why is it becoming more and more important? How do student retention theories inform best campus practices? What can I do to support retention initiatives through my work? These guiding questions will be addressed in this presentation with the intent of introducing faculty and student development practitioners to the science behind an institution’s efforts to retain and graduate students
