Learn how to use emotional intelligence to work effectively with others.
Overview: This workshop is for all SLCC Administrative Assistants and Secretary III's.
In this training session, we will cover the key components of Emotional Intelligence - EQ, and how you can use EQ to improve both personal and professional relationships. Emotional Intelligence is defined as the ability to recognize, understand and regulate our own emotions as well as recognize, understand and influence the emotions of others. Practically speaking, this means being aware of how emotions can drive our behavior and impact others around us both positively and negatively. A key component of EQ is learning how to regulate emotions – both our own and others – especially when we are under pressure. Understanding EQ will help you in:
-Giving and receiving feedback
-Dealing with challenging relationships
-Dealing with change
-Dealing with setbacks and failure
