As a college community, we are hosting the 4th District Congressional Debate on October 12th at the KSL Broadcast Studio and have been asked to participate in the debate process by submitting video questions. Here are some guidelines for your submissions:

- Introduce yourself with your name and your role here at SLCC (“I am YOUR NAME and I am a student/staff/faculty member at Salt Lake Community College…”).

- Address both candidates by name when asking the question (“Senator McAdams and Mr. Owens”).

- Pick a quiet place with good lighting, neutral backgrounds are preferred. If you are using your phone to film please do so horizontally (your phone turned sideways) and keep the camera steady.

- Keep the question around 15 seconds.

Suggestions for question topics can include COVID-19 response and plan, the economy, police brutality, systematic racism, climate change, or anything else that may affect you or your fellow Utahns.

Please submit your videos to debate@utahdebatecomission.org by October 7th.

We will also have a booth set-up for filming questions at our voter registration table at the Redwood Campus in the AAB lobby on September 28th from 8AM-1PM and October 1st 9AM-11AM if you would like to stop by and record your response in person!
