Does democratic engagement matter to you and your students? Are you currently using service-learning pedagogy or just generally incorporating community engagement as an experiential teaching strategy? If so, you may be interested in further investigating civic literacy student learning outcome (CLSLO) resources at SLCC. A rubric and reflection prompts exist to support the implementation of the CLSLO. Join us for an interactive workshop where we will dive into the resources created while also devising strategies for incorporating it into courses. Please bring a current syllabus and assignment outlines for a class that may (or will!) incorporate civic literacy and/or engagement. All faculty attendees will be paid for their time and an optional happy hour will occur from 3:30-4:30 p.m.
